The Kansas Underground Salt Museum has planned a great event for Friday, August 13 ... this won't be your ordinary trip underground! Myron Marcotte will be leading the group on a rare adventure to the Red Rock District - an area where the most beautiful red and clear salt has been discovered in the mine. And you'll get to bring some home with you!
This isn't a part of the usual Salt Museum tour. In fact, you need to bring your own flashlight and a bucket if you want to collect some salt to bring back with you. Myron will also have mining stories to share as he's a wealth of knowledge and a good storyteller.
Wear your tennis shoes or other sturdy shoes as you'll be walking on uneven terrain. Anyone wearing open-toed shoes cannot go underground to the Red Rock area.
Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance or $15 at the door and available only to adults. Buy online here or call the Salt Museum at 620-662-1425 to make reservations.
